Vacaciones en Yucatan - Holidays at Yucatan

Despues de unas maravillosas vacaciones por el mundo maya, finalmente encuentro el tiempo para actualizar mi blog y todas esas cosas que estaban pendientes.
Siento tanto el no poder decir todo lo que quisiera, pero a veces lo dejo por uno o dos dias y las cosas cambian y ya no es lo mismo, o quizás pasan cosas nuevas que suplen a las anteriores y todo se ve diferente. Por eso es tan importante EL AQUI Y AHORA. Bueno trataré de hacer una breve reseña de las cosas tan bellas que visité en Yucatan.

After a very nice holidays for the mayan world, finally I found the time to catch up my blog and all those things I left undone.

I am sorry I can not say all I wanted here, but sometimes I wait for one or two days then everything change and nothing is the same or maybe new things happen and the old ones are not as important as the day before and all looks different. Tha´s why HERE AND NOW is so important.

Well I´ll do my best to tell in a shot time my experiences in Yucatan.

Bueno el viaje comienza en Celestún, Merida. Celestún es una reserva de la biosfera y area protegida, donde hay manglares, y exotica vegetación, habitan flamencos, pelicanos,cocodrilos, cientos de aves y muchas especies de animales más. Llegamos a un hotel llamado Eco Paraiso, el cual realmente es ecologico, asi que no hay t.v. ni nada que estropee el contacto con la naturaleza. The trip begining at Celestún, Merida. Celestún is a protected reserve of the biosphere, where there are mangrove swamp and exotic vegetation, there live flamingos, pelicans, crocodile, hundreds of birds and so much species. We arrived at Eco Paraiso hotel , which was really ecological, not t.v. and nothing that spoiled the real contact with nature.

Despues de nuestra visita a los flamingos, nos llevaron a un ojo de agua o Cenote a refrescarnos en el agua, fue algo verdaderamente especial!! After visiting the flamingos they took us to a natural well or Cenote to refresh ourselves in the water, it was something really amazing!!

Despues de dos días en Celestun, regresamos a Merida sólo para rentar un coche y despues poder visitar las ruinas de Uxmal. Por la noche regresamos al espectaculo de luz y sonido dentro de las ruinas. Es algo tan inesperado! Imaginen estar dentro de las ruinas sin luces, con el cielo lleno de estrellas y los sonidos de la selva, despues la luz artificial de colores iluminando las piramides y el sonido de narraciones mayas, mientras se hecha a volar la imaginacion de como pudo haber sido todo cuando los mayas aún habitaban allí. After two days at Celestun we got back to Merida just to rent a car and to visiting the ruins of Uxmal. At night we came back to the show of light and sound inside the ruins. It was something unexpected! Imagine to be inside of the ruins without any light and the sky full of stars and the sounds of the jungle, afterwards artifitial color lights illuminated the pyramids and the sound of mayan narrations , meanwhile your imagination flies thinking how it could had been when the Mayas still lived there.

Después de estar en Uxmal, aprovechamos la noche y nos fuimos a Campeche donde pasamos la noche. After Uxmal we took advantage of the night and went to Campeche where we spent the night.
A la mañana siguiente, visitamos la ciudad colonial de Campeche, bastante calurosa por cierto !!!

Esta rodeada por una muralla, pues en el pasado era atacada por piratas asi que ahora se ve muy pequeña, pero imagino que alguna vez fué una "gran ciudad".

The next morning we visited the City of Campeche, quite hot by the way!!!

It is surround for a city wall, because in the past was attack for pirates so now it looks very small, but I imagine once it was "a big city".

Despues de recorrer el centro y el museo, donde por cierto hay piezas arqueologicas muy interesantes, nos fuimos a tomar un cafe a la plaza , pero el calor era bastante fuerte asi que decidimos tomar un chapuzon en la alberca del hotel para despues irnos hacia merida otra vez. De camino a la orilla del mar nos detuvimos a comer en un restaurancito y miren lo que pedí, me senti tan afortunada de vivir todo esto!! After walking in downtown and the museum ,where there are a very interesting archeological pieces by the way, we went for a cup of coffe at the center, but the hot weather was quit strong so we decide to go for a swim at the hotel and then we go to Merida again. In our way by the seashore we stopped for lunch in a little restaurant and see what was my meal, I felt very fortunate to live all this!!!
HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Bueno ahora les mostraré lo que hice ayer domingo que estaba muy inspirada, a una playera vieja que tenía un letrero que no nos gustaba le puse este diseño, me divertí mucho haciendolo y Alfredo recuperó su playera! Well, now I will show you what I did yesterday sunday, I was inspired and with an old t-shirt that had an ugly ad. I didn´t like I sewed this desing on it, I have a lot of fun and Alfredo get back his t-shirt again.

Tambien tuve tiempo de hacer esta bolsa para llevar las cosas de Marion a la universidad, y lo mejor ... esta hecha con basura!!!! Besides I had time to made this bag for Marion´s stuff of the university and the best.... it was made with just leftovers!!! Voy a continuar esta narración la siguiente vez, creo que tienen mucho por ahora. I am going to continue next time with this, you have enough for now.

Trabajando -Working

Sé que he sido un poco floja o más bien un poco desordenada con mis proyectos, asi que he tenido que luchar en mi cabeza para dejar a un lado los nuevos proyectos y terminar todo lo viejo. Asi que ahora estoy quilteando un proyecto que no voy a mostrarles hasta que este terminado, por lo pronto les muestro el siguiente top que tengo en fila, ya casi esta listo, la proxima cosa que tengo que quiltear es esta estrella y bueno sigo con más. I know I been very lazy it´s rather some disorder with my projects, so I´ve had to fight in my head to leave on the side new projects and finishing the old ones. So, now I´m quilting a proyect I´m not going to show you till it will be finished, for the moment here I show you the next top I have waiting to be quilted after the other, then I will continue with more.

Voy a usar estas estrellas como esquinas, para hacerlo más grande, podrían ser los 4 puntos cardinales. I ´m going to use this stars at the corners to make it bigger, They could be the 4 cardinal points.

Esta estrella la hice hace casi un año, pero nunca pude decidir si sería un cojín, un cuadro o un quilt, bueno finalmente decidido! será un quilt !! ja, ja ja. I made this star one year ago, but I never could decide if it will be a cusion, a wall hanging or a quilt, well finally decided ! It will be a quilt !! ha, ha , ha.

Sé que se preguntarán si estos colores son mis favoritos ,por que he hecho ya muchos quilts con estas telas, pues no, en realidad son telas que he reciclado desde que tenía mi taller de ropa y bueno la esencia del patchwork es realmente esta , trabajar con retacitos de tela reciclados, asi que bueno aún veran muchas cosas con estos colores. I know you wonder if these colors are my favorites because I´ve done so many quilts with this fabrics, but not really, the truth is these fabrics are left overs from my workshop when I used to made clothes and I kept all to be recycled and this is the real essence of patchwork, working with little clipping of fabrics, so still you will see a lot of projects with these colors.
