Mi querida maestra- My Dear teacher

Como algunas de ustedes saben, antes de ir a Houston iré a San Francisco California, tengo dos buenas razones para estar allí. La primera es visitar a mis amigos y la segunda el aprender acerca de la técnica que Pojagi que me llevó a compartir una hermosa amistad con mi querida maestra: Youngmin Lee.                       
As some of you know, before I ´ll go to Houston I ´ll go to San Francisco California, I got two good reasons to be there. First is to visit friends, second learning more about Pojagi that lent me share a beautiful friendship with my dear teacher: Youngmin Lee.

 Ella me envio hace unas semanas este precioso libro de una exposicion que justo termina en dos dias y tristemente no pudimos ir juntas, pero visitaremos otros lugares y pasaremos tiempo juntas cosiendo, estoy muy feliz de volver a verla este año:)
She sent to me this book some weeks ago, about one exhibition that unfortunately we can not go together because it will be close in two days, so we will visit other places instead and we will spend time sewing together, I feel so happy to see her again:)

 Este es el proyecto que quiero terminar con ella, espero y todo vaya bien por que descocer la seda esta bastante Zen!                                                                                                                                               

This is the project I want to finish with her, I hope all is going well, otherwise I will have to unstitch  it and it is so Zen!

 Ayer fue mi último dia de clases en el taller y no quiero dejar de mencionar la maravilla de alumnas que tengo!                                                                                                                                                          

Yesterday was the last day class at my studio and I want to mention the wonderful students I got!

Unas me dieron lindos detalles por mi premio en Houston otras trajeron pastelillos, o me hicieron un pastel, me siento muy afortunada por su afecto! Las quierooo!
Some gave me nice details for my prize in Houston, others brought little cakes or make me a cake to go, i feel so fortunate for their love! I loveee them!

Tutorial

Quiero agradecer a todas las personas que han compartido este maravilloso momento de éxito conmigo, las felicitaciones, las palabras positivas y las bellas reflexiones.

A las personas que no pudieron estar en Zacatecas, les quiero compartir el pequeño proyecto que diseñé para el evento.

For the folks that couldn´t be in Zacatecas, I want to share the tinny project I designed for the event.

 Es un pequeño estuche para guardar las agujas y tenerlas organizadas por tipo y medida.

It´s a little case for needles, it keeps them well organized.

 La hice con pequeñas tiras de retazos, casi podriamos decir que eran basura. I made it with scraps that were almost trash.

Aqui estan las instrucciones paso a paso, disfrutenlo! Here you have the instructions step by step, enjoy it!

 1.- Necesitamos 2 cuadros de tela base de 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" y un cuadrito de 1 1/8" cuadrado para el centro- We need two foundation fabric of 3 1/2"x 3 1/2" and a little square for center of 1 1/8" sq.

 2.-Sobre la base dibujamos una cruz de esquina a esquina para ubicar las tiras de 3/4" y hacer los bloques de Log cabin, refilar a 3"x3"- On the foundation draw a cross and make the Log cabin block with straps of 3/4", square off a 3"x3".

3.- Despues pegar  entretela en un rectangulo de tela de 5 1/2"x 3"- Then fuse interlining on a rectangle of fabric of 5 1/2"x 3".

 4.- Unir los bloques por un lado a 1/4" de costura, abrir costuras y fijar la presilla de ojal en un lado bien centrada.-

Sew the blocks one side 1/4" seam allowance, open and press, fix a little clip for the button one side centered.

 5.- Voltear al derecho, cerrar con puntada oculta y planchar.-Turn over and close sewing by hand, iron it.

 6.-Coser las tiras de cinta sobrepuestas en dos capas y coser a forma de libro, coser el boton en el lado opuesto al ojal y listo!- Sew the tapes over the center like a book pages, sew the button in the opposite of the clip, ready!

Una gran sorpresa- A big surprise

 Ayer recibí una maravillosa noticia del concurso de Houston: mi trabajo fué elegido 1er.Lugar de la categoría de quilt traditional!!!! Estoy super-contenta por que ahora SI me voy a Houston y valdra mas la pena!Yesterday I got news from the Houston contest: my work was selected the 1st.Price in the traditional category at the contest!!! I am so happy because now I will go to Houston and it worth it! 

Aqui pueden apreciar el tamaño de la camita y el quilt con la regla en la foto. ya pondré las fotos de la exhibition el proximo mes.
Here you can appreciate the size of the doll bed and the quilt because of the ruler, I will put the exhibition pictures next month.
