Epidemia- Epidemic

Como todo mundo se imagina, con la epidemia que ha habido en Mexico de la gripe porcina, hemos estado en casa por 10 días como medida de precaucion. Y bueno ha sido dificil para mucha gente, pero hablando de nosotros, para mis hijas ha sido más duro por que no estan acostumbradas a estar en casa con tantas restricciones.
En lo que a mi respecta, esto afortunadamente me ha dado tiempo de valorar mi creatividad y todo lo que puedo hacer en momentos "ociosos".
As everybody knows, with the epidemic in Mexico, we have been at home for 10 days as a protection measurement. So it has been hard for all the people, but speaking about us, it has been hard for the girls because their didn´t used to be at home with all this restrictions. This situation , brings me the time to value my creativity and all I can do in this "idle" moments.
Hice esta falda en una tarde mientras reflexionaba acerca de lo dificil de la situación para muchas personas y de lo "dificil" que creen los jovenes que son las cosas hoy. Platicando con mis hijas de esto, les mencioné varias veces la vida tan dura de una joven como Ana Frank o gente que vive guerras y hambre, contra eso lo nuestro no es nada.
I made this skirt one evening meanwhile I reflected about the difficult of all the situation and how young people believed this is a " difficult" situation today. Talking with my daughters I mentioned several times Ana Frank and how hard her life was, or the people that live war or have hungry, against that this is nothing.
Otro día me recordé que tengo que hacer un quilt para regalo de una boda y mientras cortaba cuadros en blanco y negro, me dí cuenta que pase lo que pase, la vida continúa y tenemos que seguir adelante. Entonces pensé en el yin-yang y como muchas veces los humanos solo vemos todo en blanco o negro, pero en el medio puede haber todos los colores!!
Other day I remembered I have to make a quilt as a wedding present and meanwhile I was cutting black and white squares I realized that life continues and we must go on. I thought about yin-yang and the way human being most of the time think in black and white but in between we have all the colors!!
Asi que continue mi trabajo y me puse a coser tiras y tiras con los cuadros.
So, I finish cutting and continue sewing strips and more strips with the squares.
Y finalmente terminé la primera parte días despúes, meditando y cosiendo, que relajante y enriquecedora experiencia.
Some days later finally I finished the first part, sewing and meditating, what a enriched and relaxed experience.
Que tal luce el blanco y negro en la naturaleza? hermoso verdad?

Tambien tuve oportunidad de terminar el primer quilt del año que podríamos decir pertenece al mes de Enero.
Also I finished the first quilt of the year, we could say it belongs to January.
Es el primer quilt que hago con mucho más acolchado, ha sido muchisimo trabajo, pero creo que el tiempo invertido vale la pena!
It is the first quilt I made more quilted, it had been so much work, but I believe it worth it!!
