Diciembre- December

Este ha sido un mes bastante agitado y lleno de hermosas vivencias y sentimientos. Para mi se ha cumplido con creces lo que podriamos llamar "la verdadera esencia de la navidad".
It has been an agitated month full of nice experiences and feelings. To me it seams "the real essence of Christmas".

Al terminar mis cursos de patchwork, decidí tomarme una semana de vacaciones para visitar a mis amigos Michael y Greg en San Francisco y para visitar y conocer a mi maestra de Pojagi.
Hacía ya bastante tiempo que no veía a mis amigos, asi que fué una buena experiencia el estar con ellos y felicitar a Greg por su próxima boda.
When I finished my patchwork courses, I decided to take a one week vacation in San Francisco to visit my friends and meet my Pojagi teacher. For so long I have not seen my friends so it was a good opportunity to congratulate Greg for his wedding as well.

Michael y Patt, planearon llevarme junto con Greg a una caminata de noche por un cañón llamado Wildcat, estaba lodoso y obscuro caminamos casi 2 km. para finalmente encontrar la sorpresa, un árbol navideño de casi 20 mts.? el lugar se llama Tilden Park y se decora para la temporada navideña. Tomamos chocolate caliente y nos subimos al carrusel, fue muy divertido!!
Michael and Patt, planned to take us to a mistery night walk, close to the Wildcat canyon, it was dark and mud, we walked for at least 2 km. and finally we surprisingly found a very tall Christmas tree full of lights! They took us to the Tilden Park that was especially decorated for Christmas season. We drank hot chocolate and ride the Merry go round, it was so fun!!

Al dia siguiente antes de la fiesta fuimos a visitar a la mama de Michael y Greg en Walnut creek, fué muy emocional.
Al salir no pude resistir una foto rodeada de estos maravillosos árboles, que rojos tan intensos!!
Next day before party we went to visit Michael and Greg´s mother in Walnut Creek, it was so emotional. Outside, I couldn´t resist a picture surrounded for such a wonderful red trees!
La fiesta estuvo muy divertida y fué un buen pretexto para saludar a mi amiga Sylvia y hacer nuevas amigas.
Aqui estamos Sylvia, Cristina de Argentina y yo, hechando relajo en la fiesta, mientras Michael y su grupo tocaban música de los 70´s.
Party was so good and was a good occasion to see my friend Sylvia and make new ones.
Here are Sylvia, Cristina from Argentina and I, having fun at the party, meanwhile Michael and his group were playing music from the 70´s.
Tocan muy bien y me da mucho gusto que el grupo se ha mantenido tocando por muchos años, es una forma grandiosa de no olvidar la juventud!! Bailamos y la pasamos muy divertidos durante mucho rato.
They play so good and it´s nice they have been playing for years, it is a very amazing way of do not forget the youthfulness!! We danced and had fun for a long while.
Todo mundo llevó comida y bebidas. Aqui estan sylvia y Carrie una amiga de Michael de la preparatoria.
Everybody brought food and beverages. Here are Sylvia and Carrie a friend of Michael from high school.
Un dia después de la fiesta mi maestra Youngming y yo nos vimos en su casa para conocernos y trabajar juntas durante la mañana. Creo que las dos estábamos un poco nerviosas pues solo habíamos tenido contacto por e-mail.
Cuando la vi, inmediatamente supe que era una mujer muy especial, nos invitó a tomar cafe y platicamos y bromeamos. Michael estaba tan interesado y curioso que se hubiera quedado feliz a la clase con nosotras, ja ja ja. Terminamos el cafe y nos fuimos a su estudio a iniciar el proyecto. Antes me mostró libros de Corea, sus trabajos y platicamos de los materiales y usos de los Pojagis. Despues iniciamos el proyecto.
One day after the party, was the day to visit and to meet Younming. We fixed all day to work at her studio and to have lunch together, she offers to take me back home. We both were a little nervous because we just had been in contact by e-mail.
When I saw her immediately I knew she was a very special woman, she invited Michael and I a cup of coffee and we were talking and jocking. Michael was so curious and interested that maybe he would rather stay with us, ha ha ha. When we finished the coffee he left us and we go upstairs to her studio. She showed me some very interesting pojagi books, her marvelous Pojagis and different materials. Then we started the project.

El tiempo pasó volando y llego la hora del la comida, así que muy linda me preguntó que tipo de comida me gustaba por que me llevaría a un restaurante.
Time flies and it was lunch time, so she asked me what kind of food I liked because we were going to have lunch out.
No pude resistir la tentación de probar REAL comida Coreana, asi que despues de intentar en dos lugares que no habrieron, finalmente encontramos uno abierto.
I couln´t resist to try REAL Korean food, so after try two places the third was open and she shared with me this experience.
Nos sirvieron una sopa picante de mariscos con tofu, mmm estuvo deliciosa! acompañada con un arroz al vapor de color morado junto con muchas cosas en diferentes platitos para compartir. Despues un pescado asado que sabía muy rico, creo que comimos mucho!
Regresamos a su casa y continuamos cosiendo y platicando, desafortunadamente el tiempo se fué volando y ya estaba obscureciendo así que dejamos el proyecto para que yo lo terminara en casa y me llevó de regreso a casa de mis amigos.
At the place they served us a very delicious spicy seafood soup with tofu joined with a purple rice and so many little dishes with so good things to share. after that, fish, all was so good, I think we ate so much!
We returned her home and continue working and chatting, unfortunately time passed so quick and it was getting dark, so we have to stop the project and she took me back home.
Ese día no solo conocí a mi maestra, tambien conocí a una bella persona con la que tengo muchas cosas en común y a la que ahora puedo llamar AMIGA. Sé que algún dia vendrá a Mexico a visitarme y pasaremos muy buenos momentos platicando y cosiendo nuestros proyectos.
That day I not just met my teacher but a very nice person that I have so much in common and which I can call FRIEND. I know one day she will come to Mexico to visit me and we will pass a very good moments talking and sewing again.
Esta son las fotos de los proyectos que ella me enseñó a hacer, el último es el alfiletero que hice en su casa y terminé en Mexico. Esta experiencia ha sido una puerta que me abre un horizonte maravilloso de posibilidades creativas y sentimentales. Mi viaje me acercó un poco más a mis amigos, conocí nuevas y bellas personas y aprendí un poco más de Patchwork. Como dice Youngming en su blog: LIFE IS GOOD!
These are the pictures of the projects she taught me, the last pincushion is the project I made with her and finished in Mexico. This experience has been an horizon open door of creative possibilities and feelings. My trip got me closer with my friends, I made new friends and I learned a little bit more of Patchwork. As Youngmin says in her blog: LIFE IS GOOD!

Ahora solo quiero agregar que fué un buen año, que llenó mis expectativas con creces y que quiero dar gracias por todo lo que tengo y lo que he recibido en el camino.
Deseo con todo mi corazón que todos ustedes sean bendecidos y que reciban el proximo año con SALUD AMOR Y MUCHA FELICIDAD.

Now, I just want to say that I had a very good year, it fulfill all my expectations and I want to thank for everything I got and I had received on my way.

Noviembre- November

Inicié el mes de Noviembre con el final de mi segundo curso, el tema fueron los acolchados, les mostre diferentes tecnicas para poder acolchar varios proyectos.
I started November at the ending of my second course, the topic were quilting techniques, I taught them different kinds of quilting in some little projects.

Estas son las fotos del último dia, todo mundo acomodandose para la foto y bueno mientras encontraban su lugar al mismo tiempo mostraban sus trabajos y nos divertiamos un poco.
These are the last day pictures, everybody were looking for a place for the picture and meanwhile we all were having fun.

Este es la primera practica de una alumna al hacer el acolchado libre, no esta nada mal.
This exercise was the first test of one student, she tried free machine quilting, not so bad.
Todo mundo estuvo feliz al hacer este proyecto, acolchar al coser, fácil y muy divertido!
Everybody was very happy doing this project, sew as you go, easy and fun!
Ellas son unas maestras que vinieron de Huejutla, pueden creer que viajaron toda la noche en autobus, solo para venir a este curso?
They are teachers that came from Huejutla, can you believed they travel all night long just to came to take this course?

Diseñé un patchwork para hacer en grupo y poder acolcharlo juntas, una actividad llamada quilting bee.
I designed a patchwork for quilting all together, an activity called quilting bee.
Pero como eran muchas (29 personas) tuvimos que hacerlo en pequeños grupos, fue algo muy especial para hacer en esta clase.
But because they were so many (29 people) we had to do it in little groups. It was so special for this class.
Al final, pedí a todo mundo bordar su nombre en él, desafortunadamente no todas pudieron hacerlo por la falta de tiempo, pero de una u otra forma, ellas estarán en mi quilt por siempre.
At the end of the project I asked their to embroider their names in it, unfortunately not all can do that because of the time, but anyway they will be in my quilt forever.

Al regresar de mi curso, hubo muchisimo que preparar pues tres semanas despues tenía que regresar a dar el último curso de los tres que tenia que dar.
When I got back home, I had so much to prepare because I will have another course three weeks later.
Pero el 10 de Noviembre fué mi cunpleaños No.45 y bueno lo celebré dando clases con mis alumnas y compartiendo un delicioso pastelito con ellas.
November 10 was my birthday No.45 and I celebrated giving classes and sharing a little cake with my students.
Durante el fin de semana, mi suegro y su esposa me llevaron junto con mi esposo, a celebrar mi cumple a un delicioso restaurante, nos la pasamos super-bien!!
Tambien mi sobrina querida Jessica, me llevó a desayunar a un restaurant y bueno en mi casa hubo celebracion y regalos de mi familia.
Que más podría pedir a mis 45 años? Tengo amor, familia,amigos, salud, trabajo y patchwork!! Soy muy feliz!!
During the week end, I got and invitation from my father in law and his wife, they took us to a very nice restaurant and we had a very nice time!!
Also my dear niece Jessica took me to a restaurant for breakfast and at home I got some presents and celebration from my family.
What else I could ask for at my 45´s ? I got love, family, friends, health, work and patchwork!!
I am a very happy woman.
El 25 de Noviembre regresé a Pachuca para dar el último curso llamado "Patchwork del mundo" fue muy interesante, pues no solo les enseñé 5 diferentes tecnicas del mundo si no que trate de enriquecer el curso con musica, videos y algo de pan y dulces.
On November 25 I went back to Pachuca to give the last course called " Patchwork of the world"
it was very interesting because I taught 5 different techniques of the world and I enriched the course with music, videos some bread and candies.
Tuve una mesa central con un globo terraqueo donde podiamos ver el Pais de origen de la tecnica y el material y fotos de muestra relacionados. Aqui esta la mesa de Corea con los hilos de seda y mi proyecto.
I put a central table with a globe where we can see each country we were learning about, pictures and materials. Here is the table with spools of silk and the project of Korea.
Al final, mis alumnas mostraron sus trabajos. Resaltó mucho la tecnica Egipcia, para eso escogí el ojo de horus. Algunas mostraron otros de los proyectos ya casi terminados.
Fue una larga jornada de 3 meses de trabajo y preparación, se que valio la pena!
At the end again everybody showing their works. The Egyptian technique stands out in the picture I chose the Horus eye for the project.
It was a long days journey of thee months of work and preparation but I am sure it was worth it!

Por último, el 30 de Noviembre, Deborah cumplió 21 años y bueno para festejar que mejor que un lindo restaurant y un martini? No se asusten solo fue uno! ji ji ji
Finally, on November 30th Deborah celebrated her birthday with us in a beautiful restaurant with a martini, just one! ha ha ha
Es gracioso que a partir de este momento mis hijas tengan 21 años durante un mes, hasta que Marión cumpla 22 en Enero del proximo año. Aqui esta mi esposo muy orgulloso de ellas!
It is funny since this moment my daughters are 21 years old during one month, until Marion´s birthday next January, she will be 22. Here is my husband very proud of their!!
