Proceso de la seda en Oaxaca- Silk process in Oaxaca

 Este fin de semana, tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la feria de la seda en el museo de culturas populares, fue muy interesante el ver como es el proceso desde la cría del gusano, hasta la fabricación de rebozos y bufandas en telar de cintura o de pedal.
This week end, I went to a silk fair in the museo de culturas populares. It was very interesting to see how is all the process from the silkworm breeding  to the manufacture of shawls and scarfs in the loom or telar de cintura.

 La hilatura se hace como se hacían desde tiempos prehispanicos, con un malacate y una calabaza, es increible la destreza con la que trabajan..
They spinning like people did it before the Spaniards conquest, with a malacate and a calabaza, it is incredible the skill they work with.

No pude resistir y me compre un rebozo hecho con seda y pupas en telar de cintura y teñido con palo de brasil.  Es increible los tesoros que hay en nuestro Pais y no sabemos en esta ciudad tan grande.

I couldn ´t resist and I got a shawl made of wild silk in a waist loom and dyed with a plant called palo de brasil. It is incredible the treasures we don´t know we have in our Country and specially this big city.
