Mi viaje a Chicago estuvo muy bien, me lo pase de lo mejor, pues aunque hice un viaje relampago
en solo dos días pude disfrutar de lo que quería ver y aprender.
My trip to Chicago was delightful even when it was very short, just two days, I could do the things I wanted and see and learn what I wished.

Este fué el quilt galardonado como el primer lugar en el concurso del festival, bien ganado el lugar!!
This was the first place challenge at the festival, well done !!


Hubo muchos quilts interesantes, la verdad hay tanta gente tan talentosa e innovadora que sentí rebasada mi atención con tanta creatividad.
There were very interesting quilts to see, to tell the truth I felt my attention overwhelm with so much creativity.


Una de las cosas que quería hacer en Chicago fué ir a la firma de libros de Kaffe Fassett, asi que ahí estuve, pues es un hombre muy interesante, al que admiro mucho por su trabajo.
One of my goals at the festival was to be at the book signs of Kaffe Fasset, so I was there first.
I admire his work pretty much.

Despues de firmarme el libro, Liza Prior Lucy nos tomó una foto. Creo que Kaffe pensó:
Huuyy esta señora que esta enseñando??? No me puedo parar!!- tuve un día pesado--Ja ja ja
After signed my book, Liza Prior Lucy took me this picture with him. I think he thought to himself: What is this woman showing me??? I can not stand up from my chair !!-I had a heavy day-- Ha ha ha
Tambien fué un lugar de encuentro, pues varias veces me tope con Pam Holland, pero lo mejor fue que un día despues del evento, desayunamos juntas en el hotel, estabamos hospedadas en el mismo.Fue muy interesante el expresarle mis inquietudes, me dió buenos tips.
Ella es una reyna !!!
Also it was a meeting place too, several times I met Pam Holland, the best ,was next day after the festival we had breakfast together at the restaurant of the hotel, we were at the same hotel. It was very interesting to expressing her my worries, she gave me good tips. She is a queen!!!
Otra persona a la que admiro mucho, es Laura Wasilowsky. Tambien ella es una gran persona, pues me dió muy buenos tips para trabajar en la técnica de FUSING que ella usa, es una gran artista.
Another person who admired very much is Laura Wasilowsky. She is a nice person too, she gave me very good tips for working on FUSING, she is a great artist.

Por último despues del festival me fuí al Instituto de Arte de Chicago, pues allí quería hacer dos cosas, visitar el ala nueva, que es la de la foto y encontrar la pieza Egipcia de ceramica que hice con Pam Holland.
Fanally after the festival, I went to the Art Institute of Chicago, I wanted to do two things, to visit the new wing and to find the tile piece I made at Pam Holland´s class.
Desafortunadamente no la pude ver pues la sala estaba cerrada, pero el museo vale muchisimo la pena, tendré que regresar a visitarlo en otra ocasión pues tiene muchisimas obras y salas por ver.
Unfortunately I couldn ´t see it, because the room was closed, but the museum worth while, I will be back any other time.

Regresando de mi viaje, me puse a terminar los proyectos del mes, un tapete que hice con tiras de telas recicladas. En realidad esta hecha con pañuelos viejos que mi suegra me mandó de Francia.
Returning for my trip, I have to be done with my projects of the month, I made this rug with recycled strips of old handkerchiefs my mother in law sent to me from France.
Voy a hacer un tapete mucho más grande, esta es una tecnica que me gustó mucho pues es amigable con el ambiente y una buena forma de usar telas que no nos gustan o que tenemos guardadas de mucho tiempo atrás y no sabemos que hacer con ellas. Bueno esta, linda, verdad?
I want to make a big rug, this is a very nice technique and it is an eco-friendly form to use the fabrics we do not like or we have kept for so long and we do not what to do wit them, is it not nice?
Tambien terminé un oso que le prometí a mi sobrino para el día del niño. Cuando se lo dí, me dí cuenta de que bello es hacer cosas para los peques de la familia y como ellos realmente lo valoran. Para Emilio este oso no es un muñeco, es su hermanito y mejor amigo!
I also finished this bear, I promised to my nice on kids day. When I gave it to him, I realize how nice is to do things for children and how they really put value on it. To Emilio this bear is not a toy is a kind of brother and best friend.
