Reciclage- Recicling

David esta haciendo dos quilts nuevos por que va a ser papá otra vez; pero esta vez de gemelos!!
Asi que ha tenido mucho trabajo. Aqui muestro el primero durante el proceso de diseño, ahora ya esta terminado el top y yo lo voy a acolchar mientras el hace el segundo.
Lo increíble es que esta utilizando solo pedazos de prendas de el y su esposa. Me hace tan feliz saber que uno de mis alumnos realmente pueda utilizar sus conocimientos de una manera tan creativa y al mismo tiempo sea consciente del uso de las cosas que podemos reciclar, eso es el verdadero patchwork!
David is doing two new quilts because he is going to be a father again, but of twins!! . So he has been working a lot. Here I show the first quilt during its process of design, now it is finished and I am going to quilting it meanwhile he is doing the second one.
It is incredible he is using just garment pieces of him and his wife. It makes me so happy that one of my students can use his knowledges in such a creative way and at the same time he is very conscious of recycling, that´s the real patchwork!
Uno de nuestros arbolitos de sedrón murió hace ya meses y bueno no quise cortarlo hasta pensar que hacer con el. Ahora lo cortamos y Alfredo lo va a pintar de dorado y lo utilizaremos como árbol navideño, ya les mostraré las fotos.
One of our sedron trees died some months ago and I did not want to cut it till I think what to do with it. We cut it now and Alfredo is going to paint it in gold, we are going to use it as a Christmas tree, I will show the picture later.
Por cierto había olvidado mostrar los lindos regalitos que me dieron mis hijas por mi cumpleaños!
By the way I forgot to show the little presents I received from my daughters in my birthday!

Cumpleaños- Birthday

Angelica terminó otro quilt! Es el primero que acolcha en máquina y tanto ella como yo, estamos muy orgullosas de su trabajo. Felicidades Angie!
Angelica finished another quilt. It was the first she quilted by machine, we are proud of her work. Congratulations Angie!
El 10 de Noviembre fué mi cumpleaños número 44. Esta vez tuve una salida de "chicas" a celebrar, fué muy divertido sali con mis hijas, sobrinas, hermana y mamá. Me he reido y divertido como hace años no lo hacía. Lo mejor de todo rodeada de mis mejores amigas y familia. Sigo siendo afortunada.

Last November 10 was my birthday number 44. This time I got a "girls night out" to celebrate, it was so funny, because My Mom, Sister, Daughters and nieces went we me. I laugh a lot!! I am still being very fortunate!
Cerré otro de mis circulos! Finalmente terminé mi proyecto de Trapunto. Descubrí muchos tips y definitivamente tengo que hacer más de esta tecnica para el próximo año!
I closed another circle! I finally finished my Trapunto project. I learned a lot of tips and definitely I have to do more for of it next year!
Es un cojin grande y esta hecho en seda y satín. It is a big cushion and it was made with silk and satin.

Meditation

Hace una semana tuve uno de esos días en que sientes tristeza o depresion y todo te parece que esta mal en el mundo. Asi que fuí a mi estudio y despues de analizar las cosas que no he terminado, pensé en hacer algo diferente, algo que me mantuviera concentrada todo el día.
One week ago I had one of these days you feel sad or depressed and everything in world looks wrong. So I went to my studio and after having a look of my old projects I didn´t finished yet, I thought in something new that keeps me concentrated.
Junté todos los pequeños retacitos que tengo de una pulgada y corté todos estos cuadritos, estuve todo un día cosiendolos y mientras tanto medite, al final mi espiritu se sintió relajado y feliz.
I collected all my little scraps 1 inch size and I cut all these little squares, I send all day sewing it, meditating, at the end´s day my soul was relaxed and happy.
Cuando hice el acolchado decidí experimentar con una cita hecha en letra cursiva, con un hilo multitonal. Estoy satisfecha de mi pequeño cuadro, mide 20X20 pulgadas .
El texto de lo que escrbi esta en la parte de abajo.
When I made the quilting, I experimented placing a quotation in cursive letters in a multicolor treath.

Actualizandome- Catching Up

Marión, mi hija aprovechó mi estudio para hacerse una funda de quilt para su cuaderno de la universidad, su cabello rosa ha sido su más reciente manera de expresión ahora que esta estudiando diseño.
Marión my daughter took advantage of my studio and made a case for her notebook, her pink hair has been her more recently expression way, because she is studing desing.

Había olvidado poner esta foto de Angélica mostrando cuando terminó su primer quilt.
I was forbiden to put this picture of Angelica´s first quilt she was very happy.
Hice este proyecto ya hace tiempo, para una amiga que necesitaba hacer un regalo de bebe, fué muy divertido jugar con esta figura y hacer algo tan espontaneo.
Some time ago, I did this project for a friend that needed something to give a baby as a present, it was very fun to play with this shape and to do something spontaneus.
